About Meat Eating Vegans
Meat Eating Vegans is my diet, health and fitness journal, or something like that. I’m here to share my research, progress, recipes and my minimalist non-carbivore approach to veganism.
I’m not sure if 100% veganism will ever be the goal, but I don’t give a fuck, and for good reasons too.
Two things I learned from my hippie phase is that veganism is a privilege and that diet is not black and white. Not everyone can solve their problems by dropping animal products. The human body is more nuanced than that. That’s the main reason why I am not vegan as of writing this. It doesn’t work by just omitting animal products for me. I need a more calculated approach and you can piss off with any judgment.
Even though I view veganism as the ultimate diet, I’d like to smash the idealism surrounding it and let others take comfort in knowing they don’t have to go all-in. I think there’s a lot of fear mongering in the community that can lead to an extremism that can make life very hard to live. Stress kills faster than diets do.
About Me
I’m a nerd with an extensive history of trying all sorts of wacky diets in an effort to self-preserve and be the best me.
I went through a raw food phase in college after stumbling onto a video online. Strangely enough, I wasn’t raw vegan and I still drank milk, though I did venture into nut milks.
Having lost my dad to liver cancer, having a girlfriend who was always sick (turned out to be latent lactose intolerance), and having a ton of self-diagnosed issues because I couldn’t afford doctor visits, I naturally was drawn to trying to solve things with diets and raw foodism kicked my interest off in what would be considered at the time esoteric and non-mainstream dieting.
Before that, I did a typical bodybuilding diet of rice, meat, vegetables, and dairy. After my fake raw food phase, I got into ketogenic diets, carb cycling, veganism, and many other different ways of eating. I hold no allegiance. I’m just trying to find what works for me. This website serves me in sorting through information and tracking my progress.
Aside from the health and fitness, my career is in web development which I am passionate about. You may have came here from my web development blog. I love my cat, Drake, and hanging with friends. I’m a fan of mathcore, hardcore punk, progressive and extreme metal, R&B, and modern rap.
